WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist with a passion for Cyber Security.  Your focus will be on protecting our organization's information systems and networks from cybersecurity threats. You will be a part of our Information Technology team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company focused on making an impact on the business, and to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data through various security measures and practices. This role will serve as the Security Analyst at onX and will report to the Director of Information Technology.

As an onX Cyber Security Specialist, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like: 

  • Threat and Vulnerability Management: Identifying, assessing, and managing vulnerabilities within the organization's networks, systems, and applications. This includes conducting regular security assessments and audits to detect potential vulnerabilities and threats. Including managing third party penetration testing contractors. 
  • Security Monitoring: Continuously monitoring the organization's IT infrastructure for abnormal activity that might indicate a security incident or breach. 
  • Incident Response: Responding to cybersecurity incidents and breaches. This includes being part of or leading an incident response team to contain and mitigate the impacts of incidents, conducting forensic analysis to understand the root cause, and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Security Policies and Procedures: Developing, updating, and enforcing security policies and procedures to enhance the organization's security posture. This may involve creating guidelines for IT security best practices, user behavior, and response strategies for potential security incidents.
  • Security Awareness Training: Designing and delivering training programs to educate employees about security best practices, potential threats such as phishing and malware, and the importance of adhering to security policies to mitigate risks.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensuring that the organization complies with relevant security standards and regulations (such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS) by conducting or facilitating security audits and assessments.
  • Research and Development: Keeping abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. This may involve researching new security tools, techniques, and practices to enhance the organization's defense capabilities.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience working for a cloud based SaaS provider. 
  • 2 years Cyber Security experience is required.
  • A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.
  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.  
  • Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

This is an in-person position to be performed on-site at one of onX’s corporate offices in Bozeman or Missoula, MT. Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be permitted, depending on the nature of the work being conducted. 

HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $75,000 to $90,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
