The role requires involvement with key stakeholders and maintains a positive relationship with clients while serving as an escalation point for client concerns including service transition, operational support, client renewals, and practice management. This person also has extensive real-world experience and can design pragmatic security solutions tailored to each client’s unique environment and provide our clients and sellers with consistent security expertise and thought leadership. The position will be responsible for generating new business and growing existing services within Optiv Managed. This is a high visibility role and requires a strong leader with outstanding customer service skills to plan and execute.  The position provides Practice Management, Leadership, Strategy, Offer Management, Sales Enablement, and directs high-priority initiatives while ensuring adherence to quality standards. The position is closely involved in helping to mentor, develop and evaluate employee performance as well as helping with development and continuous improvement of the Cyber Operations services.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead teams providing operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, designing, and solutioning Optiv Managed security programs to meet client objectives across technologies.
  • Work closely with customers on reporting, stewardship calls in the case of escalations.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provision.
  • Collaborate and consult with other leaders within Optiv Managed on the overall advancement of the services.
  • Collaborate and consult with other leaders within the organization such as Sales for the advancement of services.
  • Direct and drive process and documentation improvement.
  • Participate and/or manage the financial aspects of the group, including preparation for purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
  • Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and maintain an educational environment where the knowledge and performance of the group is constantly advancing.
  • Perform annual staff appraisals.
  • Identify new and emerging technologies and/or strategies for internal enablement and exposure to clients.
  • Support marketing to build Optiv brand awareness through speaking at corporate sponsored events, writing industry articles, and leveraging social media to properly represent Optiv.
  • Expert client services techniques - makes connections, facilitates meetings, reads the room, asks probing questions, overcomes objections, gains trust, maintains composure under pressure, and positions solutions.
  • Stay abreast of evolving risks, new developments in the security industry and industry best practices.
  • Develop and mentor staff through open communication, training and development opportunities, and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience in a related field required.           
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of professional services experience.
  • 10+ years leading customer service-oriented teams.
  • 10+ years professional experience in managed services.
  • Experience selling professional services.
  • Experience delivering client services.
  • Advanced business acumen and technical savvy required.
  • Experience with reporting platforms.
  • Sharp analytical abilities and the ability to make sound decisions quickly required.
  • Proven ability to make decisions and perform complex problem-solving activities under pressure.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.  Ability to clearly communicate via telephone, e-mail and written. 
  • Regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to input data into computer utilizing hands to finger to tab to different fields to input data.
  • Ability to answer telephone and talk and hear other party.
  • Ability to view computer screen, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds.
