Cyber Security at Circle:

The primary purpose of this role is to help Circle look after the organization's cyber interests. Taking part in this role will provide you with invaluable professional and intercultural skills that prepare you to excel academically and professionally in Circle’s increasingly globalized & digital world. Internship positions vary across cyber defense, engineering, and other cyber security teams, and the candidate is encouraged to voice their preference and interests within cyber security in their submission.

What you’ll do:

As a Security Engineer Intern on the Circle Security team, you will help us to secure the future of money.  You will help to engineer solutions to streamline manual processes with automation while being immersed in a team of seasoned engineers. You will connect, develop, and learn with other engineers across an array of security functions.

You'll work on:

  • Challenging (and fun!) problems centered around digital currencies & their adoption. Did we mention that Circle launched a “programmable dollar” called USD Coin (or USDC)?
  • Collaborating with our Product and Engineering teams to design, develop, test and ship phenomenal Circle features
  • Building complex security testing automation with accessible APIs that make it simple for engineers to integrate with continuous integration systems

You'll bring to Circle (Not all required):

  • Interest and/or experience in object oriented programming with Python.
  • Interest and/or experience with security testing and/or penetration testing 
  • A broad understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
  • A broad understanding of API usage and REST principles
  • Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc)
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas and present concepts effectively
  • Passion, initiative, and a curious mindset—you enjoy moving at a fast pace and constantly improving your work with little supervision

The compensation range for this role added below is specific to the location of this job posting. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

Base Pay: $40 per hour
