Title: Web Application Security ConsultantDuration: Fulltime/Contract Location: 100% Remote
Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Web Application Security Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various components of web infrastructure security, including Tomcat, Cloudflare, Azure Application Gateway, Ping Federate (optional), proxies, and firewalls. Responsibilities:1. Tomcat Expertise:•Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Tomcat server environments.•Optimize Tomcat settings for performance, scalability, and reliability.2. Cloudflare Mastery:•Utilize Cloudflare for Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration.•Implement and manage security policies in Cloudflare to protect web applications.3. Azure Application Gateway Proficiency:•Demonstrate a strong understanding of Azure Application Gateway for load balancing and application delivery.•Implement and optimize Azure Application Gateway settings to enhance application performance.4. Ping Federate Knowledge (Good to have):•If familiar, apply knowledge of Ping Federate for single sign-on (SSO) and identity federation in web applications.5. Proxy and Firewall Expertise:•Possess a deep understanding of proxies and firewalls.•Configure access controls, assess threats, and implement security measures to secure web applications.•Evaluate the impact of proxies, firewalls, and other security measures on web application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Qualifications:1. Technical Skills:•Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Tomcat servers.•Extensive experience with Cloudflare for WAF configuration.•Strong understanding of Azure Application Gateway.•Familiarity with Ping Federate is a plus.•Deep knowledge of proxies and firewalls.2. Security Awareness:•Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.•Assess and address security risks in web application environments.3. Communication Skills:•Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing guidance on security measures and best practices.•Document configurations, processes, and security incidents.4. Problem Solving:•Analyze and resolve security-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.•Work with other teams to address security concerns without compromising performance.Education and Experience:•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.•Minimum of 5 years of experience in web infrastructure security.•Familiarity with Ping Federate is a plus.•Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+) are advantageous.
