DeepSeas is a dynamic and growing organization that is seeking a Vulnerability Assessment Analyst to support our growing client base. As a Vulnerability Assessment Analyst, you will work full-time supporting clients' vulnerability management (TVM) teams and support their cybersecurity strategy in alignment with their business goals and objectives.Department: Technology Operations Center
Reports To: Technology Operations Center, Asset Team Lead
Location: Remote / Costa Rica
Key Responsibilities
1. Vulnerability Scanning Platform Configurations: This involves setting up and configuring the platform used for vulnerability scanning, ensuring that it is properly optimized and aligned with the organization's security requirements.2. Vulnerability Research: Conduct extensive research to identify and understand the latest vulnerabilities and potential threats that may affect the organization's systems and networks.3. Prioritization of Vulnerabilities: Assessing the severity and potential impact of vulnerabilities discovered during scanning and research and prioritizing them based on their risk level to determine the order in which they should be addressed.4. Vulnerability Management Overview of Integration with Systems: Providing an overview of how vulnerability management integrates with various systems within the organization, such as network infrastructure, servers, and applications.5. Vulnerability Management Activities - Perform Scans: Carrying out regular vulnerability scans to identify any new or existing vulnerabilities that may be present in the organization's systems and networks.6. Vulnerability Management Activities - Process Execution: Implementing and following established vulnerability management processes, including defined workflows and procedures, to ensure consistent and effective vulnerability management practices.7. Vulnerability Management Activities - Process Improvement: Continuously evaluating and enhancing vulnerability management processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and stay up-to-date with emerging threats and best practices.8. Vulnerability Management Activities - VM Recommendations: Providing recommendations and guidance on vulnerability management best practices, tools, and techniques to improve the overall security posture of the organization.9. Vulnerability Management Activities - Apply VM Methodology: Applying a systematic and structured vulnerability management methodology, which includes steps such as identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation, to effectively manage vulnerabilities.10. Vulnerability Management Activities - Scanning Schedule Management: Managing and maintaining a regular scanning schedule to ensure that vulnerability scans are performed at appropriate intervals and in alignment with business requirements.11. Dashboard/Reporting Capabilities: Utilizing a dashboard or reporting system to provide comprehensive and actionable insights on the status of vulnerabilities, remediation efforts, and overall vulnerability management metrics.12. Platform Operations Function: Supporting and managing the day-to-day operations of the vulnerability management platform, including user administration, system maintenance, and troubleshooting.Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience: 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity vulnerability management or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity vulnerability management or a related field.
Certifications: Certifications in Cybersecurity / Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or other relevant security certifications.
Skills:
· Proficiency in vulnerability assessment/management tools such:o Qualyso Tenable o Rapid7o OpenVAS· Familiarity with OS, network architectures, and malware analysis tools.· Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK frameworks· Team management skills
Certifications: CySA+, Pentest+, CEH, OSCP, or similar (Vendor related certifications for VM Products)
