Who we are looking for

Global Cybersecurity (GCS) protects State Street and its clients from the impact of cyber-attacks against systems by understanding the risks these attacks present and mitigating them through a robust, continuously evolving, cybersecurity program and control environment.

Cyber Architecture & Engineering (Cyber A&E) is one of five functions that make up GCS. Cyber A&E designs, architects, deploys, and continually enhances security measures for the protection of State Street’s information related to its assets and customers.

This Lead Network Security Architect will sit in the Integrated Defensive Engineering & Architecture sub-function in Cyber A&E. This role is responsible for overall design, build and implementation of secure network infrastructure to protect our organization’s data and systems. Other responsibility areas are listed below.

What you will be responsible for

As Network Security Architect you will

  • Develop a network security strategy to secure remote access infrastructure and heterogeneous workloads spanning on-premises, hybrid, virtual and container environments.
  • Design and implement a Zero Trust Architecture(ZTNA), ensuring a secure and resilient environment against cyber threats.
  • Lead the deployment of ZScaler Private Access(ZPA) solutions, integrating them into our existing network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with our IT and other GCS sub-functions to develop and enforce network security policies and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, network security audits to identify potential security gaps and recommend enhancements for continuous improvements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network architecture, security designs and other relevant process.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security trends and technologies, especially those related to NGFW, Cloud Proxies, such as  Palo Alto, ZScaler, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership in security-related projects, ensuring alignment with organization security goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into secure network solutions.
  • Develop and implement network security hardening guidelines and principles across the organization to ensure consistent standards.
  • Partner with fusion teams as needed to assist in incident response activities and investigations related to network security breaches or issues.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in network security design and architecture.
  • Experience with design & deployment of network security technologies, such as Palo Alto, ZScaler, etc is highly desirable.
  • Advanced understanding and experience with design and implementation of network segmentation, application segmentation, workload to workload segmentation in a large & complex network infrastructure.
  • Experience with network security hardening guidelines to secure network infrastructure across the organization.
  • Strong understanding and expertise on deployment of ZTNA / Zero Trust architecture and integration with secure tooling and products.
  • Experience in Security domains such as Identity Security, Endpoint Security, and SIEM.
  • Experience operating within public environment such as AWS, Azure, OCI environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written and collaborative interpersonal communication skills.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as SANS/GIAC certifications is highly desirable

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
