Director of the Air Force Cyber Technical Center of Excellence (CyTCoE)

The Air Force Institute of Technology is seeking a creative and innovative colleague who can bring the Air Force Cyber Technical Center of Excellence (CyTCoE) to the next level of excellence in achieving its mission to synergize cyber education, research, and consulting across AFIT in the areas of offensive and defensive cyber operations, cyber security, and resiliency in weapon systems. 

The Director is the senior administrative officer of the Air Force Cyber Technical Center of Excellence, responsible for overseeing mission execution, establishing strategic directions, and nurturing relevant partnerships.  As leader of the Center, the Director, working with school Deans and academic and federal organizations, also has Institute-wide responsibilities in fulfillment of the AFIT cyber education and research missions.  The Director also effectively manages and advocates for AF CyTCoE resources to deliver defense-relevant cyber educational innovations and research results.  This person is also responsible for maintenance and development of contacts and partnerships with appropriate senior level cyber stakeholders within the Department of the Air Force, Department of Defense, intelligence community, and other relevant organizations, and for developing and executing initiatives aligned with national defense priorities.  The Director executes the position’s duties through the Center’s staff members and maintains an active Top Secret clearance.

AFIT is a federal institution located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, OH.  The Institute provides defense-focused education primarily for the U.S. Air and Space Forces and the Department of Defense. AFIT has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1960.  The AF CyTCoE was established by the Secretary of the Air Force in 2008, providing visionary guidance, fostering relevant research partnerships, facilitating cyberspace research funding, and disseminating research findings.  The AF CyTCoE also guides cyber-related education innovation and provides quality instruction to meet the evolving needs of DoD organizations, the intelligence community, and other operational customers. The AF CyTCoE also leads efforts in revising and implementing current cyber-related education, presentations, workshops, and seminars to continuously improve graduate-level courses, professional continuing education, and specialized training programs at AFIT and appropriate partner institutions.
