Description

As a SecOps Site Reliability Engineer you’ll shape the development of a robust security operations team for our organization. This highly influential role will be key in the design and continuous improvement of our security operations- both in architecting monitoring strategies and mentoring junior talent. Additionally you’ll perform proactive threat hunting, support detection and response efforts, participate in cloud security best practice discussions and help create tools and strategies to automate common detection and response activities.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, build and run a new security operations program providing a foundation for centralized security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Define and assist with security standards, guiding the selection and integration of security tools, systems, and processes. Lead cloud security initiatives, ensuring optimal configuration and protection of cloud assets.
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and counter potential cyber threats. Generate actionable intelligence to inform cyber defense strategies.
  • Develop and implement automation for security operations, incident management, and vulnerability remediation. Select and deploy cutting-edge security tools.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous learning.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 15 years of dedicated cybersecurity experience with a demonstrable track record.
  • Proven expertise in building and operating a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in threat hunting methodologies, techniques, and tools.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., python, bash) for automation tasks.
  • Experience with security incident and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Experience in healthcare or life science fields.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries, building relationships, and importing and exporting ideas to achieve broad organizational goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $276,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
