Security Specialist Advisor

Overview:

We are currently looking for a Security Specialist Advisor for our growing team.

Job Duties: 

• Leads cross functional teams that perform information security reviews and audits and review designs for information security issues.

• Acts as a subject matter expert and local leader for information security direction, training and guidance for less experience information security team members.

• Instructs, directs, mentors, assigns and oversees work of less-experienced team members.

• Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and makes recommendations to leadership concerning introduction of new technologies.

• Coordinates with external auditors to ensure all IT general controls documentation and testing results have been provided while performing their annual review.

• Plans for and executes the annual internal controls assessment.

• Prepares and presents reports that are requested by IT leadership related to IT risk assessments, control assessments, and/or remediation efforts.

• Provides internal control recommendations throughout new system implementation projects, including but not limited to review of documentation for new IT processes for control implications. 

Key Skills:

• Hands on management of tools like Tanium, Qualys, Proofpoint, Next gen EDR tools and SIEM

• Interface effectively with the systems engineering team to close security risk security solutions and controls;

• Design and implement mechanisms for assessing compliance with the standards, procedures, and guidelines;

• Identify and execute on opportunities to automate security controls;

• Design and build controls to address security risks and events as identified;

• Define clear, concise, and executable standard operating procedures and documentation for any implemented solutions for formal operational handoff;

• Support security incident response as required and write security incident reports

• Embrace a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence; and

• Stay up to date on security industry trends
