Security Architect

Key Role:

Leverage DevSecOps, cloud services such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, and government compliance to spearhead our security efforts. Assume responsibility for developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect our projects and infrastructure, while also guiding and developing a team dedicated to security best practices and risk assessments, and mitigation for the health account. Collaborate with the team to establish consistent security guidelines and principles across the health account. Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure while optimizing for scalability, efficiency, and compliance. Ensure that all systems and procedures adhere to industry best practices and governmental regulations for security. Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts and standards. Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for the protection of sensitive data and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations in the early stages of project development. Conduct security assessments and audits, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of security controls. Lead incident response efforts, including the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to security architecture, policies, and procedures. Serve as the subject matter expert on security, advising on the latest threats, trends, and technologies. Mentor and develop a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a security architect role
  • Experience working with security tools such as Splunk, Nessus, SolarWinds, and Metasploit
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access capabilities, including Azure AD and Okta, and the underlying standards and protocols
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with computer industry security and identity
  • Experience with government compliance, certification, and accreditation processes, ideally with specific frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD standards
  • Experience leading security initiatives and teams in complex project environments
  • Knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle 
  • Knowledge of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and their respective security tools and best practices
  • Knowledge of network architecture, data protection, and application security
  • Possession of excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • CISSP, CISM, or CEH Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $134,600.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
