Primary focus of this position is Information Assurance (IA) and network security, planning and coordinating all aspects of system security including the setup of IA processes, system access procedures, encryption management, virus protection policy, network scans, and system intrusion detection within the Saline MI location and other U.S. Liebherr facilities managed by the local Liebherr companies in accordance with Liebherr International IT security standards. The Information Technology Security Administrator plays a vital role in computer network defense, identifying network security vulnerabilities, monitoring network intrusion attempts, and virus activity. Other critical duties include certificate management, conducting system and network vulnerability scans, security audits, systems management tools maintenance, and user support. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software related issues as they relate to ensuring compliance to security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Translates security policies and procedures into technical architectures.
  • Installs, configures, and operates master consoles to monitor the performance of server systems.
  • Monitors event logs to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future, including repair or replacement.
  • Installs, configures, and operates systems management tools to control and configure client laptops and workstations for AV and malware prevention.
  • Manages incident reporting and handling, including centrally produced tickets related to security notices.
  • Administers Patch Management services to ensure all necessary network security updates, patches, and preventive measures are in place.
  • Designs, implements, and monitors deployment of active directory group policy objects (GPOs).
  • Requests, installs, and renews computer and server certificates.
  • Creates and maintains DNS and DHCP records and reservations.
  • Protects organization's value by Ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Provides security related leadership, guidance, and training to end users and IT staff.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled internal auditing of security policy compliance.
  • Ensures fulfillment of legal and contractual information security and privacy mandates, including providing IT management with compliance reports and audit findings.
  • Attends division and group level security conferences and meetings.
  • Reviews, implements, updates and documents company wide information security policies and procedures.
  • Stays informed of current technology, trends and best practices related to the security of networking, computer systems, and applicable government regulations.
  • Analyzes and recommends changes and upgrades of systems to IT management and staff.
  • Handles support requests related to security via help desk tickets, phone, email, or in person.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: Associate degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline and/or two plus years of IT administration, operations, and maintenance experience, or a combination of education and experience. Technical certification in Microsoft technologies (MCSE/MCSA) is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of data and network security technologies and familiarity with systems hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Security principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of IT vulnerabilities and protection methods.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Excellent people skills. Is competent and comfortable with handling support requests via helpdesk tickets, phone, email or in person.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and work with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to make decisions, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
  • Demonstrates ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience supporting end-users on current Windows desktop environments.
  • Ability to recognize and troubleshoot Windows operating system related issues.
  • Experience using help desk software and ability to coordinate with other help desk personnel for successful and timely resolution of tickets.
  • Experience using remote connection tools.
