Responsibilities

Peraton’s DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting Peraton’s DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.

 

Peraton is currently seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Solutions Architect to become a part of Peraton’s Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes. Cyber Security is a crucial part of a broader information governance, risk, and compliance program within the enterprise.

 

Location: Rosslyn, VA. This is a hybrid role. 

In this role, you will:

  • Be a key contributor in establishing security architecture solutions as well as leveraging the current implemented security technologies and enhancing related processes and procedures with the goal of reducing security risk.
  • Need to “roll up your sleeves” to perform technical work while also being able to develop and implement processes and procedures.
  • Need to be an ambitious self-starter with initiative.
  • Be asked to “wear many hats” and collaborate across many departments in this role.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and effective cyber security solutions.
  • Be responsible for analyzing complex systems, identifying security vulnerabilities, and developing strategies to protect sensitive information and mitigate risks.
  • Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, management, etc. to ensure that cyber security measures align with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in cyber security, including architecture design, risk assessment, and incident response. 
  • 12+ years of combined experience in areas such as application development, infrastructure operations, security, risk, and compliance.
  • A minimum of 5+ years focused in the areas of Security Architecture, Secure Development Lifecycle Management, Application Security or Cloud Security. 
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance standards and frameworks (NIST); mandatory experience with NIST 800-53. 
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls. 
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as CCPA, GDPR, FISMA, and PCI DSS. 
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructures.
  • ln-depth understanding of network protocols, security technologies, and encryption algorithms. 
  • Experience with security assessment tools, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing. 
  • Proficiency in firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, SIEM platforms, and identity and access management solutions. 
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and identify potential security risks. 
  • Strong communication skills and leadership capability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • U.S. citizenship and an interim Secret security clearance prior to start. 
    • Ability to obtain a final Top Secret Security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Relevant security related certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or GIAC, are highly desirable. 
  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance standards and frameworks (NIST) especially NIST 800-53. 
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls. 
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as FISMA, CCPA, GDPR, and PCI DSS. 
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructures i.e., AWS and AZURE

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
