Senior Sprinkler Risk Consultant

Do you work within the fire protection or sprinkler industry and have the transferable skills required to become a Protection Solutions Risk Consultant within the Insurance industry and have the knowledge to advise customers and underwriters on how effective their fire protection systems will be?

Then look no further we have just the role for you! We are recruiting for a Senior Sprinkler Risk Consultant to join our team!

Whilst we are flexible about where you are based, we would ideally like someone south of Northampton, also you will require a full driving licence for this role.

A bit about the job

If this is you, this role could be the challenge you are looking for. Aviva’s Protection Solutions Consultants take up these challenges, crafting demonstrable risk management advice for our customers. We survey customer properties and complete design and drawing reviews to identify vulnerabilities within the fire protection systems. We offer advice on how we can increase the reliability of any fire protection systems so reducing the possibility and size of any loss in the event of a fire.

We help customers develop fire protection systems specifications, ensuring the provided systems will be reliable and fully effective in the event of a fire. We are engaged in all stages of any project from design, through to site visits during construction and final acceptance to ensure the quality of installation.

We work closely with our Insureds, Brokers, Underwriters, Claims and other Risk Management Teams to understand, plan, coordinate and deliver joined up Risk Engineering programmes, that make a real impact and contribute. Be it via surveys, projects, training or working with our Specialist Partner network, our objective is to help the customer avoid loss and reduce/mitigate their total cost of risks.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Significant amount of experience in the design / project management of sprinkler systems to the LPC rules incorporating BSEN12845 and ideally a working knowledge of other International Standards such as NFPA and FM sprinkler codes

  • LPCB qualified to Advanced Hydraulics level and preferably to Testing & Inspection of Sprinkler Systems

  • Able to develop and completed reviews of sprinkler specifications, drawings and associated hydraulic calculations from sprinkler companies

  • Experience of site inspections and surveying

  • Experienced at influencing and negotiating
