Description
PingWind is seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Cyber Security Specialist to join our dynamic team.Location: Tampa FLRequired Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility.Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.Required Experience: Four (4+) years of experience in Cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
· Conducting regular assessments of systems, networks, and applications to identify and address potential vulnerabilities· Responding to and mitigating cybersecurity incidents, such as malware infections, data breaches, and denial-of-service attacks· Implementing and maintaining security measures for networks, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.· Developing, updating, and enforcing security policies and procedures to safeguard information assets.· Utilizing security tools to monitor and analyze network traffic, logs, and other security-related events for signs of malicious activity.· Ensuring that systems and software are up-to-date with the latest security patches to protect against known vulnerabilities· Ensuring compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards, regulations, and frameworks· Identifying and assessing security risks, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks effectively· Conducting penetration testing and other security assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses in the organization's defenses
Requirements
· Experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption.· Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and best practices.· Proficiency in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure network design.· Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and experience securing them.· Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).· Skills in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security incident response.· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.· Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and other departments.· A commitment to staying current with evolving cybersecurity threats and technologies through continuous learning and professional development.· Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborate with other IT professionals, and communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.· Adherence to a high level of ethical conduct and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.· Staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to proactively enhance the organization's security posture.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in advanced computer science or relevant field, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP
Certifications Required:• Security +• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
