Experian is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who is interested in providing the highest level of support for our global network security team. Our security team is comprised of subject matter experts focused on network security controls such as Next Generation firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web filtering gateways (proxy), web application firewalls, content delivery and cloud networks.

The Network Security Lead is focused on technical leadership, support, daily operations, customer service and mentorship of senior and junior engineers. This role will also proactively engage with the business units and the Experian Global Security Office to ensure that all support gaps associated with Network Security are identified.

Position Functions 

  • Lead a global team that performs day-to-day operations and administration of network security controls, including cloud and premise-based Web Application Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web Gateways, CDNs, and Firewalls.  
  • Serve as on-call support on a rotational basis and as needed for high profile cases
  • Hire, train, and supervise the network security staff and be flexible handling competing/changing priorities 
  • Create technical diagrams and documentation
  • Identify and resolve configuration and operational inconsistencies across regions
  • Participate in the global development of security standards, policies, and procedures
  • Take a leadership role in high level cross-organizational team projects 
  • Provide SME expertise on security incidents, audits, and high priority escalations
  • Ensure team resolves support requests and incidents within defined SLAs  
  • Coordinate global maintenance and replacement of hardware security appliances
  • Work with Server and Network engineering teams on initial configurations and deployments 
  • Participate in troubleshooting sessions for security hardware/software and network issues
  • Open support tickets with vendors of various security platforms
  • Perform appropriate change ticketing and documentation 
  • Serve as a Security Infrastructure expert and representative on global technology projects
  • Participate in the evaluation of new systems and technologies
  • Manage system health and capacity utilizing monitoring tools 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, related technical field OR equivalent experience 
  • Experiencing in leading and mentoring technical personnel in a global organization 
  • At least 8+ years of practical experience, (deployment, configuration, management, and support), working with various network and security control technologies.  
  • Support the following platforms Incapsula Web Application Firewall (WAF), Imperva Cloud Web Application Firewall, SecureSphere (Hardware WAF), McAfee/Trellix Intrusion prevention systems, Checkpoint or Fortinet Firewalls, Skyhigh on premise and Cloud Web Gateways.   
  • Able to use Python to reduce manual workloads and reduce repetitive tasks
  • Expert knowledge of HTTP protocol, SSL/TLS, and Web based attacks
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, AWS, Azure, GCP, and APIs
  • Experience of deploying and configuring various security technologies, eg.  IPS, WAF, Next generation firewalls, DLP, Zscaler, Bluecoat, McAfee Proxy
  • Strong networking experience with LAN/WAN and DNS troubleshooting 
  • Experience using Wireshark for packet capture analysis
  • Ability to use Splunk and other network monitoring tools to aid problem research
  • Knowledge of Unix and Windows administration 
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills 
  • Must be able to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical partners/clients. 
  • Proven customer service and task execution skills 
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal management 
  • Proven ability to manage workloads using Agile framework 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex, high pressure situations 
  • Ability to facilitate productive meetings and work successfully in a team-oriented environment
