What is our goalOur goal is to create a security first culture where all teams are enabled and skilled enough to build security into their product from the ground up and not as an afterthought. Building on the AWS infrastructure, we want to enable all of our engineers to be able to securely build and deploy products while maximising the benefits of a true secure DevOps culture.

What we need you to do:

  • Design and implement security controls for products deployed on public cloud services (primarily AWS).
  • Promote security best practices across all sections of the organization through collaboration, developing security awareness & training programs while also supporting engineers to stay ahead of the curve in terms of security, especially on the AWS platform.
  • Act as a security SME (Subject matter expert) for security matters including but not limited to the following, application security, cloud security, automation, and monitoring technologies.
  • Be able to conduct penetration tests on web based applications or supporting external penetration testing contractors, and ensuring all findings are mitigated.
  • Assist developers in the development of our Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
  • Lead the investigation, resolution and general management of security incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Assist in developing security policies, standards and general standard/safe operating procedures (SOP).
  • Be able to work and promote collaboration across all sub-units of the organization (Engineering, Operations, Legal etc)
  • Be able to liaise with third party security vendors and implement security solutions.

Ticket to play:

  • Hands-on technical experience in cybersecurity, security engineering or privacy engineering.
  • Experience in incident response including host and cloud forensics, incident management, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and/or security detection.
  • Experience implementing cloud security solutions or administering AWS.
  • Experience with running applications using containers, kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Act as a point of escalation for engineers while architecting systems and also discuss technical challenges, especially security related.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, coupled with ability to identify and mitigate SQLi, XSS, CSRF and other web based vulnerabilities.
  • Hands-on scripting/coding experience with Bash, and familiarity with PHP (Lamp Stack), Node.js or similar programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with standard web application security tools such as Arachni, w3af, Nikto, Wfuzz, OWASP ZAP, Wapiti, Vega, SQLmap, Golismero, Metasploit or BurpSuite.
  • Hands-on experience in automating detection of security vulnerabilities and responding appropriately.
  • Understanding of traditional network protocols (DNS, HTTP, HTTPS etc) and security tools such as firewalls, web proxies, and mail gateways.
