Appian’s information security team is growing and is seeking a Information Security Manager to assist with information security operations, monitoring, and compliance. This person will work in a dynamic information security team and be exposed to modern cloud technologies and security frameworks. You will be assisting the Appian Information Security department in continuously evaluating the threat-landscape for Appian operations and service offerings as it relates to Governance, Risk, and Compliance. You will analyze international security concerns, emerging threats, vulnerability management, and industry regulations in order to drive Appian's GRC program.  

About the Job

  • Maintains security controls and operations in accordance with industry standards (e.g. NIST RMF, SSAE 16/SOC, SOX, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP)
  • Continuous monitoring activities, including monitoring for continued compliance with internal security controls, policies, regulations, and laws
  • Monitor Appian’s security boundaries, internal and external, to monitor for threats
  • Lead internal and external security reviews, audits, and control evaluations
  • Work with customers to present relevant Appian security framework information
  • Assist security incident response and investigation processes

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study
  • 3+ years IT/security audit experience (NIST RMF, SSAE 16/SOC, SOX, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP)
  • Knowledgeable of cloud-based infrastructures (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and layer security responsibilities
  • Experienced with assessing network security technologies and configurations
  • Demonstrated experience of presenting information security concepts and risks to management level personnel of varying technical backgrounds
  • You enjoy ‘pulling on the thread’ and deeply investigating issues as they arise
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
