*The Role:*
Amazon’s Digital Security team is looking for an expert Engineer to ensure that Alexa services are designed and implemented to maintain our customer's trust. This is a role for someone who is passionate about creating security solutions for the relatively new technology domain of Voice Assistants.
In this role you will be able to invent and develop security technologies and mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of Alexa teams within Amazon. You will use the latest technology, including AWS, to solve security problems at Amazon scale. You will employ automation and machine learning to reduce, or eliminate, manual effort to help our internal customers raise the security bar. You will work with Alexa service teams who need solutions that make it easy to build and operate secure systems. You will be working to deeply understand the needs of your customers and relentlessly looking to improve their experience and make them more productive. You will be taking on a key role in ensuring that Alexa teams continue to maintain customer trust. You will be asked to find new ways to solve challenging problems every day.
Activities in this role include:
* Inventing and developing advanced security solutions that developers can use to self-discover and avoid security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
* Collaborating with product teams to identify systemic security problems & propose new tooling that correct identified issues
* Collaborating with product teams and other security engineers to create and execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal as well as external attacks
* Delivering solutions which enable measuring security effectiveness and quality
* Discovering new tooling and proposing strategies for integrating them into the development life-cycle for Alexa service development.
* Advising product teams on how to write impactful unit, integration & functional security tests
* Influencing the direction of the teams in Alexa

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 3+ years working on software products related to information security
* Experienced developer with a passion for solving security challenges at scale
* Experience securing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
* Understanding of penetration testing and remediation techniques
* Experience with Amazon technologies (S3, EC2, Lambda, etc.)
* Experience with scripting (bash, Perl, Python etc.)
* Experience implementing solutions using machine learning technologies
* Possess self-drive to keep moving things forward even in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge.
* Ideal candidates must be innovative, creative, results-oriented, flexible and self-motivated, with the ability to design and write high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code
* Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
* Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
* Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 3+ years working on software products related to information security
Preferred Qualifications
* Intermediate knowledge and understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, or application security* Experienced developer with a passion for solving security challenges at scale
