Detection Engineer – R&D

Dragos’ R&D team is responsible for solving industrial control system security challenges.  We integrate our expertise back into our software technology: The Dragos Platform. Dragos is seeking a passionate Detection Engineer to join its Research and Development team. This position collaborates with Threat Operations Center, Intelligence, and Engineering teams to drive insights in industrial protocol analysis, network situational awareness, and threat behavioral detections.

Responsibilities

• Support development of innovative threat behavior detections for discovering historical and emerging threats to industrial networks and devices
• Connect with customers and industry partners to collect and analyze data for new host and network detections and characterizations. 

Requirements

• Committed to being a team player on fast-moving team focused on rapidly innovating the state of industrial security
• Understanding of a low-level or scripting languages
• Awareness of common operating system
• Applied knowledge of network communication fundamentals
• Communication skills with a demonstrated bias towards collaboration and teamwork

Nice to Have

• Knowledge with industrial control systems, networks and protocols
• Familiarity of common open source detection tools (yara, snort, zeek, tshark)
• Comfort working with multi-terabyte host and network datasets
• Familiar with blue and red team security tool plugin development (Zeek NSM modules, Wireshark dissectors, Metasploit modules, Nessus plugins, etc)
• Ability to travel (< 10%) to customer sites or headquarters
