Telework/remote can be supported, but the expectation is that 20%-30% time will be spent in the office or customer site visits/meetings/etc. (depending on needs and priorities).

Job Description

The Mission Solutions Operation Team at A3T has an opening for a Solution Architect to join our Falls Church, VA based team. This opportunity will support new business pursuits and on-contract growth to existing programs by collecting requirements from customers and delivering them to development teams and collaborating with capture to create a technical strategy from initial engagement through proposal delivery.

In this role, you will help customers solve their more demanding technology challenges. The Solution Architect will be the technical team member in our fast-paced growing environment supporting new business capture by developing innovative solutions. As a Solution Architect, you will work with business development, service delivery, and other subject matter experts to develop optimal and differentiated A3T solutions to be delivered on programs and in proposals. In addition to developing technology solutions, you will help prospective customers and partners understand the value and benefits of the A3T solution, explain technical features and transformation strategies, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshoot potential problems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• In coordination with program teams and A3T leadership, identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission enterprise capabilities resulting in increased contract growth and improved customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of prospective business opportunities, developing system architectures, industry relationships, and providing technical leadership for proposals and strategic pursuits.
• Assess market level technology trends as well as capabilities of complementary solutions enabling scaled solution offerings,
• Establish A3T best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches related to IT digital modernization and transformation technologies, including infrastructure, software development/architecture, Cloud migration, cybersecurity/data security, data science, and other emerging technologies.
• Review RFP documents to understand scope of work and customer needs to develop an overarching solution to be proposed as part of the solicitation response.
• Partner with the Business Development team to support new business strategies, including development and writing of technical solutions, basis of estimates, white papers, and responses to RFIs and RFPs
• Support the Business Development team with customer calls, meetings, and presentations.
• Strengthen existing programs with application of technology and/or innovation by working with A3T peer Operations teams by leveraging known technology and solutions on current programs and new business pursuits.
• Review customer provided information and outside sources to understand potential issues/ problems currently faced and develop an approach to solving these problems.
• Develop IT-based solutions consisting of contextual, conceptual, and logical architectures using standards-based, rigorous methodologies and best practices.
• Propose new and innovative solutions to the most complex challenges.
• Develop technical approach and project engineering plans, including scheduling of tasks, processes, and identifying critical resources, to turn the solution into a successful proposal.
• Communicate solutions with customers, management, and teaming partners, including presentations and white papers.
• Assess and recommend the technical talent skills and solution to meet the current and future (new market) business challenges.
• Understand competitor and teammate technology competencies.
• Review and assess vendor technology solutions.
• Stay current on the latest technologies and solutions in the industry.
• Other Duties: 
  • Responsible for overseeing, leading, and ensuring compliance with ISO 2000.1:2018 and ISO 27001:2013 certifications.
  • Perform as A3T’s Technology & Engineering Lead, responsible for ensuring the technical direction and strategy for using technological resources of the company. 
  • Assist with A3T IT infrastructure ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely.
  • Manage back-office IT operations, working with IT vendor, etc. (as required).

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, Existing Security Clearance (Secret minimum)   
• Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience performing project engineering, and supporting US Federal Government customers (e.g., DoD primarily, Civilian and Intelligence)
• Minimum 7 years’ experience leading technical teams.
• Be able to provide direction to activities and assess system designs to ensure that solutions will perform satisfactorily regarding security, maintainability, and scalability.
• Be able to thoroughly understand and have experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Experience as a solution architect or technical lead on contract and captures.
• Ability to assess, author, present, and articulate problem sets and associated solution elements in settings supporting customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives.
• Strong working knowledge, technical breadth and depth in support of the government markets and in particular in government IT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, software, data, etc.
• Experienced professional in contract performance with demonstrated technical leadership and customer relationship building.
• Comprehensive industry awareness of leading capability providers to enhance our technical solution offerings.

Desired Skills and Qualifications (at least two (2) identified below within 6-months):

• Professional Cloud Solutions Architect Certification (AWS, Microsoft, and/or Google)
• ITIL® 4 Leader: Digital & IT Strategy Certificate
• ITIL 4 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• CISSP Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSIP-ISSAP)
• Certified – Enterprise Architect
• Red Hat Certified Architect
