Job Description

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a seasoned Product Compliance Engineer to join the Hardware development team. This highly experienced senior individual will work collaboratively across the company in providing expert level product compliance support for all of Palo Alto Networks platforms. Utilize your extensive industry experience in regulatory compliance, for safety, EMC, NEBS, and other product compliance areas to ensure our products meet all world-wide regulatory requirements.

Your Impact

  • Collaborates closely with the product management team to ensure all world-wide country certifications and requirements are met and maintained to meet the company’s product target market objectives
  • Develop a compliance test plan for new products to ensure product compliance requirements are met on a global scale
  • Review circuit designs and hardware with EMC, safety, and NEBS compliance as one of the objectives
  • Procure hardware, setup equipment and interface with software teams to configure equipment for compliance testing
  • Conduct design verification testing on NPI and changes to legacy products 
  • Interface with external test labs for quotation, scheduling and executing required product certification testing with report
  • Work through appropriate agencies to ensure product certifications are issued, recorded, and kept current
  • Ensure all product changes meet all original required product certifications - Define any required re-testing and/or re-certification based on product changes through to end-of-life
  • Support requests from customers for evidentiary proof of product verification and certifications

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of product safety and regulatory requirements as they apply to networking equipment including FCC (Class A and Class B), CE, VCCI, product safety (UL, CSA, TUV), telecom homologation standards where applicable, telecom carrier requirements (NEBS, Verizon, AT&T), for both wired and wireless networking interfaces
  • In depth experience and knowledge of major international telecommunications regulatory regulations and requirements and the methodology and strategies for obtaining world-wide certifications (BSMI, CCC, KCC, VCCI, Anatel, and other major countries in a cost-effective manner - Direct experience dealing with in-country representatives to obtain certifications
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a highly collaborative working style is necessary
  • Project management pertaining to all aspects from funding, procuring hardware, setup and configuration, interfacing with labs and worldwide agencies, resolving issues and obtaining formal approvals to compliance standards
  • Support Program Manager to address customer concerns on EMC related questions
  • Support sustaining team when EMC technical issues arised
  • Provide Electrical and Mechanical engineer first level debugging when an EMC issue arises and provide manufacturable solution suggestion with the team
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability of complex issues, technically and operationally
  • Experience in working with supply chain vendors to obtain regulatory approval documents of sub-systems
  • Strong skills using mainstream PC tools and industry prevalent business tools (Arena, Oracle, SAP, Arena and others) to execute on business objectives
  • Minimum BS or equivalent military experience required - Master degree is preferred
  • 5+ years progressive and proven experience in leading/managing broad product compliance in the computer networking industry
  • Experience in a functional management role, while not required, is a definite plus

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $131,600/yr to $212,850/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
