System Security Engineer | Full-time contract or Freelance model | Athens or remote - GR

Your daily work routine will include:

• Help clients respond to cyber-attacks, to recover from such, assess security vulnerabilities, develop threat models, define and implement security strategies.
• Develop new and efficient ways to protect the client’s systems, networks, software, data and information systems against any potential cyber-attacks.
• Identify and define system security requirements.
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
• Drive mitigation of reported risks from continuous monitoring solutions in collaboration with application development teams.
• Conduct security assessments to identify areas of risk and ensure any gaps are remediated.
• Ensure that the company knows as much as possible and as quickly as possible about security incidents.
• Maintain current and relevant knowledge of policy management, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field or equivalent. A certification (such as CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CISA, CSX-P or CCSP) is a plus.
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience in providing cybersecurity services or equivalent.
• Technical knowledge of database and operating system security.
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
• Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken in English.
