Position Summary:

Apercen Partners LLC is seeking a talented and motivated cybersecurity engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for a highly technical performer with a passion for cybersecurity, impeccable attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions:

Develop and improve monitoring, reporting, and alerting capabilities. Design, deploy, and operate security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, DLP tools, AV/EDR systems. Cross-departmental collaboration to assess existing controls and recommend and implement new controls. Stay up-to-date on the latest tools, techniques, and processes used by cyber criminals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor (undergraduate) degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience
  • Knowledge of software/application and operating system hardening
  • Scripting or software development experience, or equivalent training, experience with Python is preferred
  • Impeccable attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Understanding of threat landscape in terms of the tools, tactics, and techniques of attacks
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues both verbally and in writing
  • Familiar with Risk Controls frameworks and procedures (NIST800-53, ISO, etc.)
  • A good understanding of network and security architecture concepts and network attack patterns
  • Knowledge of SIEM toolsets
  • Understanding of IDS and IPS technologies
  • Understanding of Windows event logs
  • Experience with enterprise information security data management
  • Understanding of network traffic analysis
  • Ability to work overtime and extended project hours as-needed
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
