Smartsheet Security is looking for a summer intern to join the Security Engineering team to assist in the development and deployment of various automation tools. In this role, you will help build the integrations between corporate and production systems with security tooling to ensure security incident, and event data is being captured, and routine response activities are automated. You will work with our Security Operations team on identifying automated response opportunities and increased security telemetry capabilities. Additionally, you will work with our Vulnerability Response team on identifying and capturing security deficiencies to ensure timely remediation and/or mitigation activities are completed.

This is a remote internship at Smartsheet, based in the USA. You will report to a Smartsheet Manager for 10-12 weeks over the summer months.

You Will:

• Develop automations for security tooling deployments
• Develop automated responses to  security events and incidents
• Build integrations between corporate/production systems and security tooling 
• Establish security metrics to identify emerging performance or operational issues
• Capture requirements for security event logging 

You Have:

• A rising Senior or recent graduate or equivalent experience
• Coding or scripting experience such as Python, C++, C#, Java, Javascript 
• Strong Operating System experience with Windows, Linux, and/or Mac OS
• A strong desire to be a member of a Cyber/Information Security Team
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an ongoing basis
