The Opportunity:
AIA Australia is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation together with several major technology initiatives to address the dynamics of the market. As part of the transformation, we are scaling out rapidly, increasing demand on our current team, requiring additional capacity and capability.
We are seeking a highly experienced information security professional to build and mature new and existing capabilities with a primary focus on incident management, security governance, and cyber awareness.
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
- Enhance, implement, and operate the cyber security program for the local AIA Business Unit that spans detection, prevention, and response, in collaboration with Local and AIA Group teams.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure security is prioritized and given appropriate focus by the business and technology teams.
- Oversee the management and review of threat analysis activities performed by staff members to identify important trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Review and improve operational processes and ensure they are up to the industry standards.
- Recommend courses of action based on analysis of both existing and emerging threats. Deliver reports, briefings, and assessments to leadership to facilitate their understanding of emerging issues.
- Provide leadership of incident response activities and develop strategies to contain the issue and eradicate the threat, and to ensure the recovery of operations.
- Develop and implement continuous IT security awareness to contribute to the improvement of AIA Australia’s risk culture.
- The role requires strong partner engagements skills to lead various collaborators across multiple project streams. You will work alongside Business and Technology teams in the Melbourne office. As a key market of Asia’s leading life insurer with technology, operations, and leadership across the region, you will develop close working relationships with off-shore colleagues in Malaysia and Hong Kong, as well as your peers in Business Units in the 18 markets across the region.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Extensive experience in IT Security gained in financial services or insurance
- Excellent technical skills in security technology across major cloud, Networking technologies
- Hands-on experience in App Sec and Vulnerability management.
- Have full understanding on DevSecOps and implementation and operational strategies around the topic.
- Detailed knowledge of common security threats and vulnerabilities
- Strong understanding of security standard methodologies in hybrid IT environments
- A passion for building a strong security risk culture
- Excellent communication skills – must be effective working with development teams and managers
- CISSP certification or equivalent is desired
- Tertiary education in Cyber Security, Accounting or majoring in related fields would also be highly regarded
