Our Team & Opportunity  

This is a permanent Application Engineer role in the EIS - Sec Lending Team. This role is responsible for developing solutions for our global Security Lending business under Investment Management Group (IMG).  

What you will do   

  

You will be the Application Engineer responsible for the Security Lending solution development within Australia. This team contributes to the global product delivery of Security Lending. You will help guide the product team in the region for high quality technical solutions.  

Core Responsibilities 

• Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications using AWS cloud-based technologies using Java and Python.  

• Understand Security Lending business functions and technology needs.  

• Understand Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems. 

• Resolve technical problems discovered by testers and/or business. Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.  

• Comply with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established milestones. Comply with all Information Security policies and procedures, and verifies deliverables meet Information Security requirements. 

• Management of code repositories, deployment pipelines and change management processes. Elevate and maintain code into the development, test, and Production environments.  

• Effectively manage working relationships with global teams and collaborate with them on designing and implementing solutions. 

• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

 

What are we looking for 

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of trainings, certifications and experience. Graduate degree preferred. 

• Minimum five years of full stack application development experience in Java and Python 

• Knowledge of the financial services industry particularly in Investment Management 

• Hands on experience on AWS technologies (Lambda, S3, Dynamo DB, API Gateway etc.)

• This position is hybrid and would require you to work in the office location Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
