We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Security and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. This role is crucial in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both security engineering and site reliability, with proven leadership abilities and a passion for fostering a culture of security and reliability across the organization.
We are headquartered in SoHo, New York City, and this role can be partially or fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers and site reliability engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Develop and execute strategies for improving security and reliability across all systems and services.
- Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
Security Engineering:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures across the organization’s infrastructure and applications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Site Reliability Engineering:
- Manage the reliability, availability, and performance of the company’s services and infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
- Optimize system performance and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and engineering practices to enhance system reliability.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure security and reliability requirements are integrated into all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments, providing regular updates on security and reliability initiatives and performance.
- Advocate for security and reliability best practices throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering and/or site reliability engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, including encryption, authentication, access control, and network security.
- Proven experience with reliability engineering practices such as monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS GIAC.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
Minimum full-time salary of $290,000- $323,000. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full Time employees at Uniswap Labs are also eligible for other compensation elements, including equity, tokens, and benefits, dependent on the position type.
Uniswap Labs' Full-Time employee benefits include company-paid medical, dental, & vision for you and your dependents, gym subsidy, 401(k) with 4% employer contribution, annual $1,500 education stipend, unlimited and encouraged time off, up to 16 weeks paid parental leave, home office setup stipend for remote employees and daily lunches at NY headquarters (all benefits are subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility).
