As a Technology Operations Engineering Manager at Breeze Airways, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems critical to the airline’s operations. This role requires a deep understanding of both aviation operations and information technology. You will be tasked with aligning IT solutions with the unique requirements and challenges of the aviation sector. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of skilled engineers and admins to develop and deploy innovative IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability across various facets of the organization.

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Inspire and empower team members to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our growing airline.
• Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in IT governance and cyber security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of technology systems across various aviation domains. Facilitate effective communication to maximize the value and utility of technology solutions.
• Implement robust cybersecurity measures and data protection protocols to safeguard critical aviation infrastructure, systems, and data assets against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies to proactively mitigate risks and enhance resilience.
• Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and availability of technology systems essentials to the airline’s operations. Implement proactive maintenance and monitoring strategies to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations efficiency or safety.
• Manage relationships with business partners and service providers to procure, deploy and support technology solutions that meet the airline’s needs and objectives.
• Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, issues, and resolutions.
• Complete enterprise project work.
• Work closely with other teams, including network engineers, data engineers, software engineers and business teams to achieve common goals.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll need to be successful

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years previous system engineering experience
• 3+ years previous experience using Active Directory (Azure Entra ID/AD preferred)
• 3+ years previous experience with Azure Compute, Network, Storage, Monitoring and Security
• Familiarity with Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android and Windows operating systems
• 3+ years network administration and troubleshooting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of airline IT systems, including reservation, operations, crew, and departure control systems
• Proficiency in system monitoring tools and ITSM software
• Proficiency with configuration management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation in IT systems and processes.
• A drive towards automating repetitive tasks
• Proven leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Deep technical expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and enterprise systems architecture.
• High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications (CISSP, CCNS, ITIL, Azure Solutions Architect)

• Rotating 24/7 on-call duty required
• Be comfortable in learning and tackling projects utilizing unfamiliar technologies
• Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a peer-oriented small team environment with minimal supervision
