Overview:

We’re seeking a Sr. IT Operations Manager to lead our IT Operations department at eSimplicity. This role involves overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and upgrading of our IT systems to ensure the efficiency and reliability of our IT infrastructure. The Sr. IT Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in analyzing, developing, and implementing IT strategies that align with our mission to deliver innovative technology solutions, enhance healthcare, and protect national interests. 

The Sr.IT Operations Manager will ensure all IT operations adhere to relevant security standards, compliance requirements, and federal regulations. This role directly assists engineers on programs with client environment or project-level issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution. The ideal candidate should be proficient at delving into technical details to troubleshoot and resolve problems themselves while also working with and managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers to guarantee optimal ticket response, performance, and cost-effectiveness. The Sr. IT Operations Manager will also manage and mentor the IT Operations Analyst, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on growth and minimizing the impact on business operations. 


Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure Management: 
  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and upgrading of IT systems to ensure efficiency and reliability. 
  • Ensure the IT infrastructure meets performance, security, and scalability requirements. 
  • Implement and manage cloud-based solutions, particularly on Azure, to support business operations. 


Cybersecurity Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the CISO to develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to protect organizational assets. 
  • Ensure all IT operations adhere to relevant security standards, compliance requirements, and federal regulations. 
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions. 
  • Work closely with the CISO to address security incidents and implement preventive measures. 
  • Vendor and Service Provider Management: 
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure optimal ticket response, performance, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Manage licenses and subscriptions; make recommendations for efficiencies.  
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure the best terms and conditions. 
  • Manage device purchases and leases and configurations. 


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the IT Support Analyst, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. 
  • Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT operations team. 


Strategic IT Planning:

  • Analyze, develop, and implement IT strategies that align with the company's mission to deliver innovative technology solutions. 
  • Collaborate with senior management to align IT initiatives with business goals and objectives. 
  • Identify opportunities for technology enhancements to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. 


Remote Operations Management:

  • Ensure the IT operations team is effectively supporting remote work environments. 
  • Implement and manage tools and processes to facilitate remote collaboration and productivity using Sharepoint and other mediums. 
  • Monitor and manage remote access solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity for all employees. 
  • Develop user support model including onboarding, laptop provisioning, asset tracking, 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


Educational Background: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 
  • Professional Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations management, with at least 3 years focusing on cybersecurity. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure in a cloud-based environment, specifically Azure. 
  • Demonstrated Experience/familiarity with Government Contractors 

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of Azure cloud services and infrastructure management. 
  • Proficient in cybersecurity practices and tools, with experience conducting security assessments and audits. 
  • Familiarity with IT management frameworks and tools, such as ITIL, NIST, CMMC, FISMA FedRAMP, HIPA, Jira, or similar. 

Leadership and Communication Skills: 

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. 
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

Certifications: 

  • At least one relevant certification such as ITIL, PMP, or Azure certifications. 

Professional Experience:

  • 10 years experience in IT operations management, with a focus on cybersecurity. 
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure in a cloud-based environment, preferably Azure. 
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment. 

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services and management. 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools. 
  • Proficiency with IT management and monitoring tools, such as ITIL, Splunk, or similar. 
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 

Certifications: 

  • Two or more relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or Azure certifications, are highly desirable. 

Work Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.  

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
