IT Network Security Engineer I

Full-time, remote- United Kingdom, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Poland & Denmark
 

In this role, you will represent the Enterprise ICT Organization, in network and security infrastructure services. This individual will function in a capacity to implement and maintain network security infrastructures and compliance initiatives. This position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, best practices, and procedures relative to maintaining and implementing network and security infrastructures.  This role includes responsibility for implementing appropriate IT security procedures, configuring security software, and implementing security administration functions across multiple platforms. 

 

As an IT Network Security Engineer I, you will

 

  • Implement and maintain network security infrastructures
  • Monitor the performance of all supported systems
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current security threats and new technologies released by critical vendors
  • Support network security solutions to protect the company’s network from cyber threats
  • Collaborate with engineers and assist with escalated issues
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents.
  • Review and recommend solutions for network design and improvements
  • Perform regular security audits and risk assessments

 

About you

  • 1-3 years of Network and Information Security related technology experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • In-depth knowledge of Firewalls (Cisco/FortiGate preferred), VPN, IPS/IDS, NAC (Cisco Identity Service Engine preferred), and Cloud technology (AWS/Azure preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Routing and Switching
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, and supporting networking technologies
  • Able to work independently and with high commitment
  • Strong ability to work in a global team
  • Ability to multitask on various technology and projects
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in a manner of the highest level of security while accessing sensitive company information
  • Capability to review and interpret logs and correlate events 
  • Professional certifications are highly desirable
  • This position will occasionally work outside business hours.
