As a Tech Risk & Controls Associate in Cybersecurity & Tech Controls team, you will be a part of a team that supports the implementation of risk mitigation strategies, controls and action plans for the firm. Working closely with the technology risk teams and cross-functional partners, you contribute your skills and insights to the continuous improvement of risk management methods. Job responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring technology risks, ensuring compliance with firm standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans for technology-aligned processes
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented controls, contribute to the recommendations for improvements and addressing gaps in risk management
  • Communicate risk-related findings and updates to relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and risk appetite 
  • Document and monitor operational risk and control environment to identify existing and emerging operational risk and issues
  • Communicate heightened risk that is relevant to stakeholders and customers to ensure transparency and appropriate prioritization for remediation
  • Understand legal and regulatory obligations applicable to the application portfolio and how the processes and associated controls provide evidence of compliance
  • Coordinate and monitor issue management to ensure timely and sustainable remediation and provide thematic analysis to identify trends
  • Partner with process owners to respond to internal and external audit and regulatory requests for information

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or a related field
  • Proficient in risk identification, assessment, and control evaluation, with a strong understanding of industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Exposure to risk management frameworks, regulations, and industry best practices 
  • Proficient experience in technology and Operational Risk including Cyber Risk
  • Demonstrates strong experience in various Technology and Cyber domains, for e.g., Architecture, Vulnerability Management, Cloud, etc.
  • Ability to work with data from disparate sources to build a cohesive view on risk 
  • Experience working in regulated industries, in particular leveraging technology standards, frameworks, compliance, and industry recognized best practice/standards (e.g., ITIL, NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC)
  • Collaboration with internal and external technology audits (3rd Line of Defense), CCOR Operational Risk Management deep dives and testing (2nd Line of Defense), and the ability to advocate on behalf of subject matter experts

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or other industry-recognized risk and risk certifications preferred
  • Preferable experience working in regulated industries, in particular leveraging technology standards, frameworks, compliance, and industry recognized best practice / standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and present security risk concepts with business and technology partners
