Cyber Security Architect IT / OT

Aligned with the GREEN'26 Cement strategy, FLSmidth is set to have a dedicated Cement business entity, equipped to inject green-tech initiatives into the dynamic global cement market. This Cement business will feature its own dedicated Cement IT function, which is currently in the process of being developed.

Working alongside skilled colleagues both internally and externally, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing security architectures that protect both IT and OT systems from evolving cyber threats. As a newly established entity, our Cement business presents a unique opportunity to truly make a meaningful impact.

About the job

The Cyber Security Architect for IT /OT is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive security architectures for the organization's IT and OT environments. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the integration of security best practices into all stages of system development and operations. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of cyber security principles, strong technical skills, and experience in both IT and OT security domains.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Architecture Design:

  • Develop and maintain security architectures for IT and OT environments, ensuring they align with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Design security solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing IT and OT systems both internally and for our customers
  • Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools to enhance the organization's security posture.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess security risks associated with IT and OT systems and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
  • Implement risk mitigation measures and monitor their effectiveness.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards for IT and OT environments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, IEC 62443).
  • Stay informed about emerging regulatory requirements and adjust security architectures accordingly.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with IT, OT, and other business units to integrate security into system designs and operations.
  • Provide security guidance and expertise to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate security architecture concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Incident Response and Management:

  • Support the development and implementation of incident response plans for IT and OT environments.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement improvements.

Security Operations:

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls for IT and OT systems.
  • Monitor IT and OT environments for security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure the secure configuration and hardening of IT and OT infrastructure and applications.

Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver security training programs for employees to promote security awareness and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Stay current with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Evaluate and implement new security solutions to address emerging threats and enhance security capabilities.
  • Collaborate with other IT and OT leaders to integrate security into business processes and technology projects.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with at least 2 years in security architecture role.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing security architectures for IT and OT environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, IEC 62443).
  • Strong technical skills in network security, application security, and industrial control systems (ICS) security.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stakes situations.
