This job is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain our customer's sensitive clearance.

An experienced Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert is needed to support the customer’s Cybersecurity Architect team at the Gatehouse Center. This resource will be working with the Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA) team.

Job Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Will provide objective advice, expertise, and specialized skills in, but not limited to, supporting projects related to the individual's subject matter expertise or functional domain.
  • Will prepare and deliver analysis and presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and representatives.
  • Assure the proper use of current or requested engineering, configuring, programming, testing, and documentation techniques.
  • Produce and/or review documentation and reports reflecting knowledge of areas.
  • Will lead special projects or investigations into specific technology or solution issues and to shepherd research and piloting of new technologies.
  • May serve as a point of contact for engineering efforts and has overall responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of solutions and/or services while maintaining compliance with enterprise-wide architecture policies and guidelines.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise as an emerging authority.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Exercise latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Work on unusually complex technical problems as a recognized authority and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Provide timely and adequate response to threats/alerts as required.
  • Assess security events to drive to a resolution as required.
  • Provide timely and sufficient response to security incidents and assessment services as required.
  • Utilize knowledge of CIS controls and Zero Trust concepts to provide inputs to assessments.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust – and may be required to obtain a higher security clearance.  
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree. 

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field.  In lieu of degree, two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
