Job Description

Visa USA Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Cyber Security Engineer – Sr. Consultant level (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to:

  • Design, build, test and implement security systems with VISA’s IT network.
  • Drive secure development practices and system designs.
  • Design and enforce the Security Review process for significant changes to design and architecture.
  • Drive Security Architecture and design/implementation/optimization for Web, API and Mobile backend applications.
  • Engage in the initial requirements definition (including analysis of threats and risks and alignment with Visa security, Engineering, IT and Architecture standards).
  • Conduct and facilitate security reviews, threat modelling including deep design reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Enable/build security on various platforms and technologies which protect the applications from attacks.
  • Help business and Product teams to achieve various compliance certifications like PCI, FFIEC, etc.
  • Identify and analyze system and application level vulnerabilities to provide recommended counter measures or mitigating controls that reduce risk to an acceptable and manageable level.
  • Independently formulate direction, design or oversight for the development of major Enterprise-wide programs or plans that have significant impact on the success of the organization.
  • Conduct regular system tests and ensure continuous monitoring of systems and network security.
  • Review current system security measures and recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest security systems, standards, authentication protocols, and products.
  • Apply a strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security.
  • Interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field and 12 years of experience in a computer-related occupation.

Worksite: Foster City, CA

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $169,395.00 USD to $206,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
