The AWS Data Center Security team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Physical Security Engineer to create technical mitigation strategies for a diversity of risks globally, develop technology solutions for complex physical security problems, and partner with program and operations managers to implement solutions.
The duties include: evaluating risk data, Developing Design Base Threat solutions, physical security system design and engineering, working with the data center architectural and engineering team to assure physical security requirements are included in basis of design documents and coordinating with regional and local leaders to understand the new building and low voltage system designs.
A successful candidate will be responsible for interpretation of standards and risk information to assure solutions are selected/created to meet the unique challenges to be found in a global program. After a new technology is inducted into the data center plan, this position will be responsible for assisting program managers efforts on implementation programs.
Key job responsibilities
• Design and engineer new low voltage systems.
• Use Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design to reduce risk on AWS sites.
• Creation of specifications and scope of work documentation for Global Program managers.
• Coordination between other architects and engineers to assure basis of design documents are kept up to date for current physical security requirements.
• Provide technical and design support for Global Program managers.
• Develop Design Base Threat solutions to data center security problems.

• BA/BS degree in Physical Security, Engineering field, Risk Management or associated fields
• 5+ years experience in the Physical Security Field
• 2+ years experience in Risk Evaluation or Risk Management.
• 2+ years documented experience in the application of physical security technologies to solve complex security problems.
• Experience with one or more drafting technologies.
• Experience with Risk Evaluation/Management in multiple countries
• 5 years of documented program management experience
• The ability to write clearly and concisely with short deadlines and quick turnaround times, while still effectively communicating information in a structured analytical way.
• Ability to develop design principals and communicate those principals to other data center design team members
• Ability to operate in high stress situations and relay information in a timely and accurate manner.

Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in Physical Security, Engineering field, Risk Management or associated fields
• 5+ years experience in the Physical Security Field
• 2+ years experience in Risk Evaluation or Risk Management.
• 2+ years documented experience in the application of physical security technologies to solve complex security problems.
Preferred Qualifications
