As an engineer responsible for the SaaS Cloud Security Team, you will combine software and systems engineering to build and integrate tools and applications that will strengthen and innovate in the security space within the Oracle SaaS cloud and infrastructure. You will play a critical role in the design, development and execution of multiyear security strategies designed to improve the security and compliance posture of Oracle's SaaS services.

The organization is responsible for designing, developing and deploying new cyber-security solutions and integrating with existing third-party vendor security systems, following a DevSecOps approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will be a key member of the team in innovating, designing, and developing security management systems for all SaaS Cloud infrastructure
  • You will participate in the architecture and design of systems, and use modern programming practices
  • You will be bringing your experience in building, deploying, tuning and owning distributed and resilient systems
  • You will be working closely with other security engineering teams, to share information, advance the team's skills, experiences and capabilities
  • You will be a driver of creating a culture of quality and attention to detail at Oracle, through your multi-faceted leadership approach including results your team delivers, your innovation, your mentorship, and your engineering of world class security management solutions
  • You will work closely with your partners and peers in security operations who use your software to carry out their security analysis and management activities
  • You will influence and assist in new security solutions and process definition, in line with the scale and rate of change of a multi-application SaaS environment.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of professional experience as SRE / DevOps engineer
  • Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem in production, possibly at scale
  • Experience with designing and managing data streaming platforms based on Kafka
  • Experience with Terraform (or other IaC)
  • Experience with Linux system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring and alerting
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Go, Python, Ruby, Linux scripting
  • Experience in building and managing containerized applications, preferably with Docker
  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Elastic and one or more data storage solution (e.g. Oracle, Cassandra, Redis)
  • Experience in secure network design and administration (OSI / DoD model, TCP/IP, TLS, VPN, routing, HTTP, load balancing)
  • Experience working in security, security operations, security incident response
  • Experience with GitOps continuous delivery and Argo CD / Argo Rollouts

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
