The role

 

The Junior Cyber Security Officer role is newly established and will evolve over time. Initially, your responsibilities will focus on detection and response activities. You will be expected to develop your skills to a high standard and provide essential commitment and support to minimise the impact of internal and external cyber security threats. Your role will involve supporting the Cyber Security team in effectively managing threats, vulnerabilities, and operational risks by administering cyber security policies, procedures, tools, and controls.

 

Drawing on your career experience to date, you will be encouraged to innovate and contribute to technology enablement by sharing your knowledge and skills.

Who are you?

 

In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates will need to possess the following key skills, knowledge and experience:

 

  • A deep interest in technology advancement, digital transformation and cyber security
  • Technical experience in technology enablement
  • Interest and proven overview of security tools, vulnerability management, security monitoring, log analysis, alerts and incident management.
  • Training and/or certifications in cyber security preferred
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Awareness of industry insights and interest in further learning and development as required for the Cyber Security uplift
  • Deep interest in problem solving
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure and support others with a collaborative approach to work

 

South East Water operates in a hybrid environment.  This role is required to work on site 2-3 days per week to enhance technical learning.
