Having this position report into our Santa Clara, CA headquarters is strongly preferred.  However, there is a potential for this to be a Remote position, located within the United States, preferably in the Western Region.

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks software firewalls occupy the #1 position by market share in the virtual firewalls market, according to Dell’Oro. We’re now becoming the network security solution of choice for everyone who’s moving their applications to or developing cloud-native applications in the public cloud.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Software Firewalls, you will work closely with Product, Go-To-Market, Sales and Marketing stakeholders to create, implement and execute the product marketing strategy to continue to grow our software firewalls. This includes market awareness, thought leadership and demand generation efforts.

Your Impact

  • Build differentiated, value-based messages that connect customer pain points with product-led solutions to resonate with target personas
  • Work with Product Management to identify key market problems and help position our products appropriately
  • Lead the creation of marketing initiatives with Global Campaigns and Field Marketing to execute on go-to-market objectives
  • Lead the creation of strong marketing content to support all stages of the marketing funnel - from demand generation to conversion into sales qualified leads
  • Present at internal and external events, highlighting how we offer differentiated network security for private cloud and public cloud environments
  • Identify key metrics to track software firewalls business key performance indicators and drive regular communication on progress to ourthe cross-functional stakeholders
  • Work with technology and channel partners including cloud service providers to do joint marketing of our software firewalls
  • Partner with the broader marketing team to amplify our message, provide customer education, and generate demand
  • Identify metrics and drive regular communication regarding progress to the broader marketing team
  • Track the network security market and competitive landscape, in collaboration with product, marketing, and sales leadership
  • Lead sales enablement activities, both for Palo Alto Networks sellers and Partners
  • Identify the tools or capabilities needed to increase sales and channel impact and performance
  • Be a subject matter expert and a go-to resource for the sales field as they position our software firewalls

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience is required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with creating and delivering presentations in a range of environments, from industry conferences to customer briefings
  • Experience with information/cyber security products
  • Deep understanding of customers needs and market dynamics, preferably in the cybersecurity industry
  • Demonstrated product marketing abilities that propel adoption and market momentum - a desire to bring innovative tech products to market
  • This type and level of position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) and 12+ years of work experience, with 5+ years of directly related experience
  • An MBA is desirable or equivalent military experience required

Travel RequirementsApproximately 10%-20% travel may be required.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $144,800 - $212,900 The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
