What you will do

As the Director of Quality Assurance and Release Management you will be accountable for ensuring that the products delivered meet the quality, reliability, and performance requirements our customers expect.  You will also lead the Engineering Customer Response Team that addresses L3 issues and escalated customer issues. 

Tracking of these issues will allow fundamental changes to the Quality Assurance and Release Management Processes to ensure we have a very low volume of L3 issues and customer escalations.  You will also ensure our products meet the applicable Cybersecurity requirements.

How you will do it

QA Delivery and Release Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day mobile and SaaS software quality assurance testing activities for all releases

  • Lead all Mobile and SaaS QA resources and ensure all releases are well planned, properly staffed, and compliant to the QA strategy and Guardrails 

  • Establish the QA GuardRails that will ensure proper QA testing and validation occurs across all phases of the CI/CD and Software Development lifecycle

  • Apply Lean Agile concepts and SAFe Agile methodologies to the QA testing efforts

  • Lead the ECRT team for all SaaS products and Services.  Work with the cross functional teams to understand and resolve customer support issues.

  • Oversees the building of automated and test driven frameworks for rapid product development and testing with collection of relevant metrics 

Cyber Security

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity controls to protect our SaaS and IoT solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Coordinate regular security assessments, audits, and tests to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies, and ensure appropriate security measures in place

  • Engineering Customer Response Team

    • Develop and lead a centralized customer response engineering team focused on providing timely and effective technical support, issue resolution, and customer communication for our SaaS and IoT solutions.

    • Establish service level agreements (SLAs), response procedures, and escalation processes to ensure customer inquiries and issues are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.

    • Collaborate with customer success, sales, and product management teams to gather customer feedback, prioritize customer needs, and drive product improvements and enhancements

  • Team Leadership and Development

    • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the cybersecurity, quality assurance, and engineering customer response teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer focus.

    • Recruit, onboard, and develop top talent, ensuring the team possesses the skills and expertise necessary to deliver exceptional results and exceed customer expectations.

    • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement, encouraging skill development, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration among team members

QA Strategy

  • Establish the Quality Assurance strategy and monitoring via KPIs and associated metrics to provide best in class software quality and customer experience 

  • Establish metrics and Guardrails for all release types from Major releases to HotFixes.  

  • Liaison with the Product Security and Infrastructure Security teams to ensure the releases meet all relevant Cyber Security Standards

  • Ensure all products adhere all applicable regulatory standards such as ISO and SOC compliance

  • Coach and Mentor the QA and associated resources and teams

  • Build close collaborative relationships across all QA and Engineering stakeholders

  • Establish a Customer centric view of quality across the QA and Engineering Organizations 

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop Quality processes that meet the business objectives and strategic initiatives 

  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and processes for quality assurance across the software development lifecycle, integrating security and customer response requirements into QA workflows.

  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, including functional testing, performance testing, security testing, and customer-focused testing.

  • Drive automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and reliability, leveraging tools and frameworks as appropriate

What we look for

  • 15+ years in software development, QA or delivery areas

  • Prior experience in obtaining ISO and SOC compliance and associated auditing processes

  • 10+ years prior experience with Cloud Security, Cybersecurity standards and processes and Secure Software Development processes

  • Experience with test driven methodologies 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree preferred

  • Proven experience (15+ years) in a combination of software architecture, cybersecurity, quality assurance, and customer-focused engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong expertise in cloud-based SaaS architectures, microservices, APIs, and IoT platforms.

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices, with relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH)

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing security controls, encryption, authentication, authorization, and access management solutions

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams and drive customer satisfaction

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical, secure, high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
