Your future role within QRT
The Senior Security Operations Engineer at Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is expected to lead delivery of a wide range of security capabilities to improve the overall QRT security posture and provide subject matter expertise on related topics.
We are in the midst of forming a cutting-edge, globally distributed security team focused on creating highly sophisticated security operations procedures and systems. These are designed to scale effectively, meeting the demand of our growing organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the security landscape from the ground up, engage with a wide array of technologies, drive architectural decisions, select specific tools and technologies, and lead innovative projects.
The primary mission of our security team is to protect our data and assets through the implementation of robust controls. These controls are strategically designed to support and enable business continuity rather than hinder it. Our collaborative efforts span multiple geographies and departments within the company, closely collaborating with IT, Cloud Services, and Engineering.
QRT leverages a diverse technology infrastructure that includes multiple data centers and extends to the public cloud, creating a hybrid technology stack. This infrastructure is optimized to meet stringent performance and low latency needs vital for our quantitative and systematic investment approaches.
Some technologies we use on daily basis include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Okta, Splunk, Netskope, Palo Alto, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, Docker & Kubernetes
Responsibilities:
- Understand the threat landscape of the company and apply appropriate security controls and capabilities
- Implement automated and scalable security systems, processes, and controls
- Oversee and monitor security throughout the organization
- Treating security as a business enabler
- Lead and/or mentor team members
Your present skillset
- Holistic understanding of security engineering concepts
- Mentoring / leadership experience in cyber security field
- Strong technical foundations in operating systems, cloud, and network engineering
- Understanding of offensive security from the perspective of an adversary
- Hands-on experience of security operations processes and systems including; security monitoring, intrusion prevention & detection, network security, endpoint management & protection, identity management, threat detection, vulnerability management
- Expert on identifying threats in distributed environments and responding to them
- Programming skills in any high-level language
- Must have a focus on ownership of issues and commitment to resolving them
