Job Description SummaryAt GE Healthcare, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform, known as IDAM Services, is the backbone of secure access to resources for authenticated Users across the DHS Services. As a Senior IAM Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IDAM services. These services are crucial for managing access by Human, Application, and Device Users, enabling seamless integration with existing identity solutions, and minimizing development efforts for new applications. As an active partner, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality products that meet business requirements based on defined outcomes.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Technical Support: Provide expert technical support, diagnosing and resolving issues related to identity and access management systems promptly.

Root Cause Analysis: Utilize your analytical skills to dig deep into logs, review code, and triage issue tickets to identify the root causes of problems.

Reliability Enhancement: Lead efforts to improve application reliability, quality, and time-to-resolution for support tickets.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the engineering team to find innovative resolutions for customer issues and ensure timely closure of issues and tickets.

Feedback Mechanism: Act as a conduit between users and the engineering team, providing valuable field feedback to enhance IDAM services and contribute to improved release procedures.

Specialist Knowledge: Leverage your specialist knowledge of IDAM applications to perform Standard Operating Procedures that address functional requests from customers.

Integration: Assist in seamless application integrations with the IDAM system, ensuring a cohesive user experience.

Ticket Management: Maintain an efficient ticketing system, keeping a comprehensive database of issues and resolutions up to date.

Documentation: Create and update technical documents and standard operating procedures, ensuring clear and accessible information for internal teams and external clients. Maintain documentation on all systems, installations, and configurations. Coordinate and communicate all Change Management and Risk Management activities.

Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues swiftly, addressing customer-reported problems effectively.

Maintenance Planning: Develop maintenance and upgrade schedules for the system and communicate outage windows to customers when required.

Ownership and Initiative: Take ownership of tasks and deliverables, working independently and using discretion to seek assistance when necessary. Lead the development of winnable strategies that creatively use resources to anticipate and solve problems, resulting in innovative solutions for the business using alternatives beyond the obvious.

Education Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a software developer or support engineer with a hands-on approach.

Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or CIAM) are advantageous

  • Experience in healthcare or a related industry is preferred

  • Strong knowledge of the Identity and Access Management domain, including expertise with identity solutions like WSO2, OKTA, Ping/ForgeRock or others

  • Experience with authentication and authorization protocols such as SAML, WS Federation, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect 1.0 is critical

  • Proficiency in Java 8+, JavaScript, Spring Boot, and the Spring framework (Core, Boot, Web, Security). Familiarity with Python and Angular is a plus, especially for custom solution development

  • Experience with AWS, Docker containers, and Kubernetes, with an understanding of how these technologies relate to IAM systems and cloud integrations

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $114,240.00-$171,360.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). GE HealthCare offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
