Part Time Information Security Analyst (Cloud)

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Part Time Information Security Analyst. This hired individual will monitor and analyze security events and incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities,  in support of CFTC Cloud infrastructure team. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. Every day, our employees do the can’t be done, solving the most daunting challenges facing our customers. This is a remote position.

 

What you will do:

• Monitor and analyze security events and incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including conducting root cause analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery activities to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in our information systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to establish best practices and ensure compliance with CFTC Security guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and compliance, to assess security risks, implement security controls, and respond to security incidents effectively.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends in the industry and recommend security enhancements or countermeasures to mitigate risks and improve security posture.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in AWS/Azure Security domains. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
• Experience in system engineering and SRE practices
• Experience a SaaS environment.
• Proven experience with Monitoring and Logging tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and server management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell), IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef
• Experience with both cloud platforms AWS, Azure.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance (Public Trust).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Federal or Government contracting and consulting experience is a plus.
• AWS or Azure security certifications.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
