At AWS, we are hiring a skilled Manager to lead, motivate and grow the US-ADC Communications Security (COMSEC) team, leading COMSEC Custodians/Officers in managing and developing the AWS US-ADC COMSEC Program. Primary duties include managing relationships/COMSEC functions with multiple mission partners, federal customers and COMSEC accounts across the United States. It will also require continuous engagement with mission partners and vendors as we continue to scale the program to meet rapidly-growing customer needs and requirements. Key job responsibilities

• Overall leadership of the COMSEC team, to include talent development, performance management, organizational goal setting (to include strategic planning/OP1 inputs) and resource planning functions.
• Develop and review both existing and new/proposed programs requiring COMSEC support to ensure the security, integrity and overall success of the program.
• Oversee and manage checklists, drive compliance and exceed audit expectations.
• Advising leadership, stakeholders and mission partners on current and planned COMSEC postures to meet requirements across all US-ADC AWS locations.
• Devise overall team strategy, process and policies to drive efficiency, effectiveness and well-organized program management to ensure success and scale of increasing requirements/growing COMSEC account size.
• Maintaining liaison with Government customers and COMSEC vendors to provide advice, guidance, and exchange information with regards to COMSEC standards and policies.
• Serve as a COMSEC subject matter experts on Government inter-agency working groups, committees, and task forces.
• Maintain 100% accountability of all accountable COMSEC items through effective program management, oversight and compliance functions.
• Travel to other AWS locations to conduct ad hoc self-inspections and support regionally
• Provide support and oversight over multiple COMSEC accounts and subaccounts across multiple sites.
• Develop and update operating procedures based on site, equipment and mission partners.
• Maintain all COMSEC account and subaccount file plans as instructed per mission partner.
• Coordinate with internal and external customers/stakeholders to support information security programs.

Basic Qualifications

• BS level technical degree or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years COMSEC experience as a Primary or Alternate COMSEC Custodian and/or manager with COMSEC oversight supporting US Government customers.
• Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience.
• Experience with various Type 1 Cryptographic devices, keys and loaders.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with a proven track record of delivery following Project Management principles
• This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery and execution of COMSEC programs.
• Experience in making recommendations for resolving COMSEC problems and requirements for multiple mission partners that utilize Type-1 encryptors to secure their networks.
• Providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to high level management officials and technical staff on critical COMSEC security issues.
• Experience in developing SOPs for all types of COMSEC actions. (E.g. Annual Rekey, Encryptor Upgrades, STE Use)
• Applying knowledge of IT project management principles, methods, and practices to develop plans and schedules, estimate resource requirements, define milestones and deliverables, monitor activities, and evaluate and report on accomplishments
• 5+ years of executive communication. effective written and oral communication with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the business
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
