About the role

The Security Engineer is a key member of the Retail Technology Team and is responsible for supporting the establishment, development and continuous improvement of capabilities, tools, processes and practices to protect information and digital assets.

This role will support information security knowledge sharing and training for various technology and business teams within Retail.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify critical assets, potential risks, and lead comprehensive control assessments. Develop and implement strategies for risk reduction and mitigation.
• Continuously enhance and develop the cybersecurity capability within the technology team, collaborating closely with Software, Test, and Cloud Engineers. Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to junior team members.
• Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise for the adoption of DevSecOps automation and integration into DevOps ToolChains, ensuring the highest standards of security are met.
• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks within AWS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any security control issues, responding promptly to all system and network security breaches.

What will you bring?

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you’ll need to be able to work collaboratively with the other team members, communicate effectively with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders and peers both within and outside of Origin.

• Experience with AWS solution building blocks
• Understanding of DevOps methodology and practices and cloud computing technologies
• Experienced in architecting secure cloud environments
• Experienced in design and implement network security access controls and monitoring capabilities in a public cloud environment
• Experienced in REST and GRAPHQL
• Experienced in IT security, compliance and risk management, including container security, application security, privacy and controls, etc
