Job Summary: 

ITS has an exciting opportunity for a Cybersecurity Engineer providing support to the 461st Air Control Networks Squadron (461 ACNS) in Robins AFB, Georgia. These services are required to connect, secure, and defend the Digital Infrastructure supporting the Combat Air Force’s Command, Control, and Battle Management capabilities across the globe – anytime, anywhere.   These services include building digital and physical infrastructure to support current and growing Battle Management Control Squadron (BMCS) mission to ensure successful implementation of BCC “Kingpin” Network & Systems from Shaw AFB to Robins AFB. This infrastructure support includes new initiatives to bring Cloud Based Command and Control (CBC2) to the Tactical Operations Center (TOC). These services may also include future services to bring Cloud-Based Command and Control software to the local campus to mature Battle Control Center (BCC) development within the Theater Air Control System (TACS).

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assesses assigned Cyber domain to understand the mission, architecture, and threat thoroughly
  • Advises on technical design and implementation of Defensive Cyber Operations capability required to effectively protect, detect, and respond to cyber threats and attack. 
  • Research cyber defense technology options for best fit based on mission, architecture, and threat
  • Ensure that all system and application deliverables meet the requirements of all DoD and Air Force Cybersecurity policies as identified in the following paragraphs
  • Ensure that all system deliverables comply with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policy, specifically DoD 8500.01, Cybersecurity, and AFI 33-200, Air Force Cybersecurity Program Management
  • Ensure that cybersecurity policy is implemented correctly on systems, Contractors shall ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force Certification and Accreditation policies, specifically Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, and AFI 33-210, The Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Air Force Information Technology
  • Support activities and meet the requirements of DoDI 8520.02, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Public Key (PK) Enabling, in order to achieve standardized, PKI- supported capabilities for biometrics, digital signatures, encryption, identification and authentication
  • Install/maintain/support Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) and Host Based Security System (HBSS) and associated point products
  • Conduct STIG reviews of windows- and linux-OS based systems and various applications (e.g. MS Exchange, MS SQL, Citrix Infrastructure component systems, etc.); leverage automation tools to simplify the work

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5+) years’ experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, and certification and accreditation including at least 2 years in a DoD environment
  • Knowledge of Cyber Situational Awareness, to include Security Information and Event Management (SIEM: Atc, Splunk, Elastic Stack, etc.) and other cyber tools
  • Must have knowledge of DoD and AF cybersecurity policies, practices, & requirements, and demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of current security threats, techniques, & landscape
  • Candidate must understand the DoDI 8500.01, "Cybersecurity", DoDI 8510.01 "Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)", Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503), and NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls
  • Must have a current Security+ CE certification (IAT Level II certification)
  • Five years of technical experience in cyber-defense or cybersecurity-related fields (e.g., engineering, networking, systems integration, solutions, etc.)
  • CISSP certification desired
  • Willing and able to travel between Shaw AFB and Robins AFB up to 25% of the time

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a cyber-related discipline (e.g., network engineering, computer science, information systems, software engineering, programming, etc.). Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must have a current Security+ CE certification (IAT Level II certification)

Clearance Requirement:

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Salary Note:
