Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Senior Director of Customer Information Security is a business/technology advocate for customers, partners, analysts and other third parties. This external facing analyst will bring strategic security thought leadership for Actian’s products and service offerings, marketing materials and programs and pre and post sales customer interactions, partnering with these internal organizations to provide customer focused security. They will be customer-facing, answering customer security inquiries and questionnaires, and will present at trade shows, conferences, seminars, webinars and customer briefings. The Senior Director of Customer Information Security will partner very closely with the executive leadership of the organization, Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Customer Success to create a world class security environment for our customers.
In addition, they will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, highly matrixed environment, developing a strategy for Actian and the organization and a roadmap to achieve strategic goals. The person in this role must have a proven track record in information security, including a strong executive presence and outstanding communication skills, particularly presentation and writing skills.

Responsibilites
- Providing prospects with the security information that they need to make their Actian product/service based purchasing decisions. This would include (1) answering prospect questionnaires, (2) providing prospects with security roadmap briefings, (3) presenting prospects value-added security presentations on the products/services they are interested in, (4) conceptualizing and developing security white papers, (5) contributing to company product and services-based marketing decks.
- Providing customers with the security information that they need to support their business requirements and grow with Actian as a customer, including (1) answering customer questionnaires, (2) managing and controlling the dissemination of ISO 27001 certification materials, SOC 2 audit results, FEDRAMP certification, and other materials to customers, (3) providing customer security briefings, (4) sending out security product notices to customers, (5) contributing to customer newsletters and product updates on security topics.
- Develop and contribute to marketing communications about security, including company presentation decks, white papers, analyst briefings and conference presentations
- Work with the engineering and product management organizations about security features, capabilities and priorities for our products and services
- Coordinate security incident escalation and management for Actian products and services, involving stakeholders throughout the company and HCL
Qualification
- Prior experience in a customer facing security role is highly desirable
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills, are required
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization from the leadership team to individual contributors
- Flexibility and the ability to improvise when needed.
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or other security certification/accreditation is highly desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business required
