Assistant Manager - Security

Strategic Roles and Responsibilities  

• Understand the strategic objectives of the business and site, and provides operational inputs to be incorporated into the strategy and roadmap
• Provide inputs for the design of the operating model and the SOPs, to ensure operations processes are incorporated appropriately
• Review the site operations and suggest process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Process Centre of Excellence
• Tracking and sharing industrial best practices, trends & benchmarks in the field of security governance & performance management.
• Partner with the Site Security Head and impart on the job training to the Site Team.
• Foster an environment of learning, excellence, and innovation within the team.
• Suraksha Samvad/Traffic safety/Security awareness section to the contractor’s worker.

ISPS 

• Ensure the ISPS related all the compliance implementation.
• Proper uses and store to all the security gadgets provided at ISPS zone.
• Ensure adherence of conducting security checks, mock drills as per ISPS guidelines. 
• Conduct timely reviews of all on-going strategic initiatives ISPS area.
• Conduct security risk assessment at ISPS zone and implement mitigation measures in consultation with Security Head to counter threats and vulnerabilities.
• Facilitate internal or third-party ISPS audits and conduct timely checks to ensure reliability of Security management system and submit report of audit findings to the Port Security Head.
• Review the ISPS audit report, analyse findings and conduct dialogue with the concerned stakeholders for action planning and resolution; Ensure prompt closure of open audit findings.
• Sign off/Sign on record to be maintain as per ISPS guidelines. 

Police Liaising

• Having good contacts with police officials and govt. traffic authorities for handling traffic movement on highways / external roads. 
• Liaise with local police to help business/ material owners of premises to register complaints, FIR and also help other stakeholders.
• Coordination and liaison with local police, villagers, panchayat members, and other concerned govt./civil bodies for sharing information and other business related requirement.
• Liaise with local police in respect to register complaints and solving cases related to company. Prevent & pre-empt against. Criminals / subversive activities / advance knowledge of possible terrorist activities & counter measures through state powers. 

Gate -2 Security Operations

Supervision and review

• Oversee the end-to-end operations of the gate, ensure adherence to the operating model and SOPs 
• Provide guidance to the team on managing exceptions and report major exceptions to the Security Head
• Periodically submit performance reports to the Site Security Head as per the established performance review guidelines
• Assist in conducting security awareness programs across sites. 

Man & Vehicle Access Control

• Continuously monitor the entry/exit points of the gate.
• Oversee the Operations team of Access Control and ensure process adherence; Report deviations to Site head
• Oversee the issuing and deactivation of access cards for VIP visitors, first-time visitors, government officials via Kiosks, and other applicable systems.
• Accountable for Gate-2 related man, vehicle and material related any movement.

Incident Management

• Act as the first responder to crises/ emergencies/ incidents as per plan; Manage exceptions
• Lead, or act as a team member of the QRT, as per guidelines
• Provide inputs to update the response plans basis key learnings from incidents.

Liquid Terminal

• Ensure smooth cargo transection from LT without any traffic blockage.
• Continuously monitor the entry/exit points of LT premises.
• Oversee the LT Operations team of Access Control and ensure process adherence; Report deviations to PSH.
• Oversee the end-to-end operations of this site, ensure adherence to the operating model and SOPs   
• Ensure smooth project work at LT and conduct awareness secession/Suraksha Samvad for security and traffic safety awareness.
• Conduct investigation in case of any security breach in side the LT area and submit the report to PHS.
• Review the Tankers loading/unloading procedure and close the vulnerabilities/security gaps.
• Ensure prompt response management in handling emergencies and providing business continuity at Liquid Terminal.

Suraksha Samvad/Traffic Safety 

• Partner with the Site Security Head and impart on the job training to the Site Team.
• Foster an environment of learning, excellence, and innovation within the team.

 

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/ Operations or relevant field
• Preferable to have Certifications including Certified Protection Professional (CPP) / Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) / Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification / Physical Security Professional (PSP) / Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ Industrial Security professional certifications

Experiences:

• More than 6 years of work experience with minimum 4 years in a similar role - leading Security operations at a site/ work-unit for mid/large sized organizations 
• Hands-on experience with designing and executing SOPs and operating model for Security Operations, such as Access Control, Patrolling and Surveillance, Traffic Management
• Rich experience managing large teams of Security guards, officers, and supervisors 
• Well-rounded experience in Security systems, application, and equipment
• Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders – internal as well as external 
• Preferable to have worked in an organization with diversified business
