Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Senior Cyber Defensive Operations Engineer to support the JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Red Team. Location: Fort Meade, MD.

 

In this role, you will support the development and maintainence JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Red Team Operations (RTO) program.

 

Tasks include:

  • Demonstrate what works for defenders in an operational environment
  • Develop methodology and advanced tools, tactics, and techniques
  • Support CSSP evaluations
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, concept of operations (CONOPs), TTPs, policies, checklists, and guides for the Cyber Red Team program
  • Support the gap analysis activities related to Cyber Red Team and report shortfalls in cyber capabilities against program effectiveness
  • Develop information security assessment policy, methodology, and individual roles and responsibilities related to the technical aspects of target organization to validate their cyber resiliency
  • Plan for a technical information security assessment by providing guidance on determining which systems to assess and the approach for assessment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; 14 years with AS/AA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Will consider HS+16 years of experience.
  • Able to provide Senior Cyber Defensive Operator Engineer knowledge:
    • Monitors, analyzes, and detects cyber events and incidents
    • Assists with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
  • Must be successfully certified as an apprentice by JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Red Team Leadership
  • Must successfully pass an industry recognized penetration tester certification examination.
  • Able to operate with limited supervision and may supervise an apprentice during execution of assigned red team activities that are approved by JFHQ-DODIN DRSI Cyber Red Team Leadership.
  • Must meet the following minimum requirements:
    • Be qualified in one (1) additional cyber specialty (e.g., Web Applications, Networking, Wireless, etc.)
    • Conduct general research for JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Red Team assessment reports; develop the narratives for mission findings (Vulnerability context and adversary perspective based on TTPs)
    • Draft pre-engagement governance documents (e.g., Rules of Engagement (ROE) or ROE modifications, capability briefs, etc.
    • Plan and coordinate all red team activities (e.g., Before, During, and After)
    • Serve as team lead in at least in two (2) or more red team operations and provide support to enable red team operations (e.g., cyber planning, de-conflictions, etc.)
    • Lead JFHQ-DODIN DRSI Cyber Red Team in-briefs and out-briefs
    • Complete all journeyman training tasks (certified).
    • Complete JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Red Team Journeyman Verification and Performance of Tasks (VPT) Board
  • IAT Level II certification -- Must obtain certification within 60 days of employment.  Must maintain certification in ATCTS for duration of employment in this position.
  • CSSP-Analyst certification -- Must obtain certification within 60 days of employment.  Must maintain certification in ATCTS for duration of employment in this position.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Desired:

  • IAT or IAM Level III certification

  • CSSP-Infrastructure Support certification

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
