The Role
The cybersecurity Intern will work in Horangi’s Cyber Operations (Offensive) team, and will be mentored by experienced consultants to deliver enhancements to real-world projects. 
Interns in the Cyber Operations (Offensive) team would generally be expected to contribute to the team through research and development work, primarily focused on enabling security testing automation, tool development and contribution to the internal knowledge base and any other relevant activities that may be required of them by the organisation.
Interns may also be selected to participate in our internal training programme for junior consultants (depending on factors such as intern progress and length of tenure with Horangi). Select interns may also be tasked with performing hands-on penetration testing or vulnerability assessment activities under real-life consultancy scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Relevant skill sets in programming (such as Python, Ruby or Java) and/or cybersecurity to meet the technical demands of the role
  • Students enrolled in cybersecurity or computer science programmes are preferred
  • Demonstrable passion for cybersecurity
  • Prior experience and participation in Capture-the-Flag (CTF) challenges is a bonus
  • Having industry certifications such as CEH, eJPT, KLCP or OSCP is a bonus

  • Develop automation scripts/tools
  • Create detailed documentation on developed scripts/tools
  • Contribute to the internal knowledge base
  • Perform penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
