Get to know the role:

As a Cloud Security Engineering Intern, you will be a part of a team that ensures the security of Grab's Cloud platform, one of the largest deployments in the region. Although this position does not require prior experience, it promises to be a melting pot that offers ample opportunities for learning, growth, and hands-on experience.

The day-to-day activities:

You will work alongside other engineers on the team to carry out tasks similar to a Cloud Security Engineer, including:

- Assisting in the maintenance and support of internal tools to improve system health and reliability.

- Participating in setting up and maintaining a security monitoring platform, specifically understanding the workings of services like AWS (Config, GuardDuty), Azure (Sentinel, Monitor), ELK, AWS WAF, SSO providers AD/Okta/JumpCloud, Kubernetes, etc.

- Helping to create tools for automating deployment, monitoring, and operations of the overall platform.

- Participating in an on-call rotation to provide infrastructure support, incident management, and IAM troubleshooting.

Qualifications

The must haves:

- A strong interest or academic training in managing public cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP).

- Familiarity or willing to learn the use of automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, Travis CI, etc.).

- Eager to learn coding in at least one high-level programming language - JavaScript, Java, Python, or Golang for scripting and automation.

Good to have:

- Curiosity about Cloud Security, Security Operations, DevSecOps, or Security Automation is always encouraged for deeper learning and furthering practical knowledge.
